Valentine's Day is only a few days away. Are you ready? Got chocolate? Do you get tired of paying high prices for quality chocolates? I just thought of a way to make great tasting candy without the high cost! Whip up some of these and let me know what you think! Blueberry Dark Chocolate Candy Recipe, Yum! You will need:
Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler on medium heat. Stir when they just start to melt. Stirring will help them melt faster and evenly. Do not overcook. Stir in milk. While the chocolate chips are heating: Put 1 Blueberry in the center of each space, add a nut or coconut, or both. Spoon on melted chocolate, or carefully pour chocolate over each one. Or space Blueberries 3" apart on waxed paper on a cookie sheet and spoon chocolate over them. Put in the freezer until hardened. Pop out and enjoy! Store in refrigerator or freezer until devoured, which will not be very long! Another idea: crush a candy cane and put a little in each space before adding melted chocolate. Notice there are a few missing already. |

If you would like to save money, the environment, and your skin from toxic chemicals in laundry detergent here is a recipe for natural laundry detergent to try. DIY Laundry Detergent Recipe 1 box Baking soda, large 64 ounce box 1 box Borax 1 box Washing soda, 55 ounce box 2 Cups finely grated soap, preferably natural soap. You can find fragrance free 'beauty bars' at Dollar General, 3 for $1.50. Its called DG Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar. You can get Pink or White Zote in the detergent isle at Walmart. Or you can collect soap end pieces or use hotel soaps. I use a Magic Bullet to grate the bar of soap, but started out with a grater. Either way will be fine, unless you are using small pieces then you will need a food chopper of some sort. In the Magic Bullet, I add chopped (with a knife first) pieces of soap and add a little Baking soda so it does not stick to the blades. I only chop 1/2 bar at a time so it does not break the machine:) If the soap is fresh, it will be sticky so it will need more Baking soda if using a Magic Bullet. You can open the soap box a few days before to dry it out if you are not in a hurry. If you want to play around with fragrance, add 40 drops or more of your favorite essential oil to the Baking soda in the box and shake carefully over a trash can or sink. Tea Tree oil is antibacterial, Lemon is said to help whiten, Peppermint has an uplifting scent, and so many more to try! Mix all the ingredients in a bucket or large bowl and store in a sealed container. I sell them in 2 gallon zip lock bags for easy storage. Try not to breathe the dust while mixing, or wear a dust mask. Use 1/4-1/2 cup for an average load of laundry. |
